LOCAL AMENITIES
Apple Cottage is very secluded and you'll need a car to get around. The hamlet consists of around ten houses and several of these are used as holiday accommodation. The local residents are very friendly and the next door farm sells eggs and even their own frozen meat!
Locally there are two cafes and a great pub right next to the beach at Crackington Haven. There's a car park at the beach and one in a field during the summer a short walk up the road. The other coast road takes you to Boscastle with it's National Trust Visitor Centre, fish and chip shop and farm cafe with the most incredible views.
In the other direction, there's a pub, petrol station and Post Office with general stores at Wainhouse Corner. If you need a supermarket there's a large Morrisons and Lidl at Bude (10m) or a smaller Co-Op at Cameford (5m).
Bude has plenty of shops and restaurants, but there are any number of places to explore along the North Cornwall coast, for example Padstow, Polzeath and Port Isaac to name just the ones beginning with 'p'!
